Maison Lou Dumont

Koji Nakada moved to Burgundy in 1996 to study oenology at the University of Beaune. In 2000, together with his Korean wife Jae Hwa Park, he founded Maison Lou Dumont.
Based in the historic village of Gevrey-Chambertin, they are the only Japanese producers to own a domaine in Burgundy and have earned worldwide recognition.

The most important word in Burgundy is "terroir".
In Japanese, it translates as "Sky, Earth and Man" — the climate, the soil, and the hand of the winemaker, a trinity essential to the birth of a great wine.
This philosophy is inscribed in calligraphy on the orange "Tenchijin" labels.
His wines were praised by the late Henri Jayer, known as "the god of Burgundy".
Koji Nakada also appears in the famous wine manga "Drops of God" and has been featured in a documentary on Japan's national broadcaster NHK — a true artisan the whole country is proud of.
